Confessions of Two Law Geek Fashionistas

{April 28, 2008}   Everyday Minerals

After approximately 50 million centuries, the new Everyday Minerals site is up. Check it HERE.

So what do I think? Firstly, I’ll have to say that the range of products has really increased. In particular, check out the new concealers, the new Start To Finish Primers (under Finishing Powders) and the new blushes. I used to be a huge Everyday Minerals blush fan but have been falling off the bandwagon, though I did keep my 3 favourites (Apple, Soft Touch and Anytime, if you’re interested).

I’m already planning my next order! Probably the Long Handled Kabuki (which I recommended to Indu A.K.A. LGF2 without actually owning it), Flat Top Brush, Ivory Pressed Foundation, a backup of my Intensive Fair Concealer, one of the new primers (battling between the Fair Start to Finish or the Rice Powder one). I also wanted one of the Natural Reflections, which are basically powders with SPF, but I’m not sure.

I don’t think my wallet can take this. I need 15 pan palettes and NARS blushes from Hongkong too! (Yes, that’s a *need*).

{April 28, 2008}   Earring Hangers

I was in Raffles City basement buying food when I spotted these babies. I think I’ve said before that I use a special earring hanger in the shape of a woman. That kinda broke, it being ceramic. Actually it broke the day I bought it, but I patched it back up with super-glue. It kept breaking if someone so much as sneezed, though, and I’ve patched it back about 10 times. It was just too tall and imbalanced – I guess I should have thought about centre of gravity when I bought that thing for 40 bucks. The last time it broke, I gave up – it won’t even hold superglue anymore. So my earrings have been in a colossal mess the past few months.

These beauties are 10 bucks each, about 6 inches high, and it is not ceramic, so there is no chance of it breaking, especially since it is so small. The frame is metal and plastic, and the head is detachable, so it is also easily portable.

After I hung all my earrings on the tiny frames.

{April 28, 2008}   Double Entendres

Lee Kiat Seng, in describing the case of Chan Kin Choi v PP, a case of sudden fight.

The accused owed the deceased a sum of money. When he went to meet with the deceased to discuss the settlement of the debt, he was armed with two knifes as he was concerned that he might be turned on by the deceased and his gang at the meeting.

And he brought knives? How… kinky.

{April 27, 2008}   LGF1

In my opening post for this blog, I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Rachel, also known as Law Geek Fashionista One (LGF1 – gotta love acronyms!), and I am a self-confessed lipstick and shoe whore. Oh, and lingerie. And clothes. And blushes.

Ah well, a girl needs some addictions.

I’m also a Star Trek reader/watcher, ex-football fan, fantasy reader who spends way too much time reading law crap. Since Misrepresentation calls, I’ll be back soon. I also need (well, not need per se, but y’know) to plan Hongkong shopping in June. NARS awaits!

{April 27, 2008}   The Beginning

So, here it is. The grand beginning. *looks around* Okay, not so grand.

What is this blog about? We are basically two friends who are in NUS law, and love talking about three things – law, geeky stuff, and fashion & beauty. A strange mix? We thought so. So if you like an eclectic mix of discussions about the nature of law, and gushing about shoes and mineral make-up, tossed in with the latest theories about Lost and reminiscing about Star Trek… this is for you. All… two of you.
